PRIVACY POLICY

Revels Music is a small, specialist business whose main purpose is to support and promote mountain dulcimer playing in the UK.

We keep your personal data only as a record of previous transactions and as a means of keeping in touch with those interested in the mountain dulcimer.  We do not pass information to anyone else, unless you give us express permission to do so.

What we collect

We may collect the following information:

  • name
  • email address
  • shipping address and contact telephone number

What we do with your information

We keep your email address as the main means of keeping in touch with you.  We use this, sparingly, to let you know of mountain dulcimer events in which you might be interested and to alert you to relevant products and services (e.g. you may have asked us to find a particular type of dulcimer for you).

We keep your other details as a record of previous sales, to help us speed up future transactions.  This includes a record of items you have bought from us and events/interests you have asked about.

How we keep your information secure

We will always do our utmost to ensure that your information is kept securely.  Our website is professionally managed, hosted and certified as secure.  We process your information carefully and have suitable electronic, physical and managerial arrangements to keep it safe afterwards.

How we use cookies

A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer’s hard drive. Once you agree, the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site.  We use traffic log cookies to identify which website pages are being used. This helps us improve our website in order to tailor it better to customer needs. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system.

Overall, cookies help us provide you with a better website, by enabling us to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. A cookie does not give us access to your computer, or any information about you other than the data you choose to share with us.

You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you want. This may however prevent you from taking full advantage of the website.

Your information and links to other websites

Our website has a section with links to other websites of interest. These are provided in good faith, but note that once you have used these links to leave our site, we have no control over that other website. We cannot therefore be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement. Before you use them and provide any information, have a look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.

How you can control your personal information

The information you have given us is still yours to control.  You can control how we use it in the following ways:

  • forms on the website have a tickbox to indicate whether or not you are happy for Revels Music to tell you about mountain dulcimer events or products which may be of interest;

  • if you have previously agreed to us using your personal information in this way, you can change your mind by writing to us, emailing us at reeve-black_revells@msn.com or clicking “unsubscribe” at the bottom of any email circulars we send to you.

We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to anyone else. We will only pass information on to others if you have told us specifically you want us to do so.

You may request details of personal information which we hold about you under the Data Protection Act 1998.  If you would like a copy, please email Revels Music.  If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please write to or email us and we will correct it promptly.
